Garnier - Fresh Refining Toner

Hi lovey's!
I'm going to start off by saying I don't think I've ever slated a product here in Wonderland before; as in I've never dedicated a whole post to something that was awful. This little slice of the internet is for happy, pretty and lovely thing's, and not for nasty thing's that set your skin on fire. With that been said, I feel that this post is necessary.

A couple of weeks back, my local Boot's were having a 2 for €5 on all their Garneir products. Now, if you've been reading for a while you'll know my thought on the Garneir cleansers, I love them. That day, however, I was in need of a new toner and decided to try out one of the Garnier ones, I picked up this one but it had kind of fallen into the never ending box of products I own because I've been religiously using my Boots own brand toner that I am honestly in love with and have been for about 2 years now.

I decided I should give this bad boy a go though seeing as I had it really, and my god. Never again, never. After my normal routine of make up removal I applied it and almost instantly my skin began to tingle, which is never a good sign, but by the time I got to the bathroom to wash it off my face was full force burning. It was so horrible! I washed my face and applied some moisturiser and even a face oil over it but my skin tingled for hours after. I honestly think this stuff is made from acid!

Really not impressed, not cool Garnier, not cool!

Have any of you tried it or am I just loosing my marbles?

SoSueMe enabled

I'm not sure about anywhere else in the world but in Ireland.. or at least in my little world.. when Suzanne Jackson say's something is worth buying - it's worth buying. No, scratch that, its worth walking the town checking in every shop to see if the product has been sold out yet!

So when SoSueMe wrote a review on this NYC Mascara, I was like, yep. I need me one of those! The mascara itself is a bit of a mouthful its called the Big Bold  Volume by the lash. A mouthful, indeed! Anyway, the wand itself is short and thick, and grabs the lashes really nicely. Its so black which I love,  and the curl holds quite well. It's been compared to the Maybelline Rocket mascara which is one of the most popular mascaras in the drugstore, and across so many blogs too.

The great thing about this... wait for it... it's €3.49! Yes, you read that right!

Unreal.. Have you tried it?

How to look the best at everything

A little while back my sister headed off to London & Paris for a week.. jealous much. If you've been following me on Twitter you'll know I tweeted saying you know you're raising your baby sister right when she comes home with the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and two Benefit sets! One of those was a gift for me which I was pretty stoked about because Benefit isn't that easy come by where I live!

Katie got me the 'How To Look the Best At Everything' in the shade light which is essentially a flawless complexion kit. As I said it was a gift so I didn't ask about prices or anything like that.. little rude I think. However I can tell you about all the little goodies that came inside!

The products include:

The ever so raved about Porefessional Primer.
Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory
Boi-ing concealer in shade 01 & 02
'I Love Me' powder in Ivory too.. How cute is that name?
A mini Benefit brush - much like the ones that come in the boxed blushes.

First of all, I can say that hype around the Porefessional is well deserved, it's an amazing nude primer that really does minimise my pores and helps my foundation last much longer. I'm lucky enough to have received an extra sample of this from Benefit themselves so I'll be sorted for a while!

The Hello Flawless foundation looks shockingly dark in the tube, I was almost scared to test it but it is a really good match for my skin tone. It's very blendable and it's lasting power is pretty impressive, I work most days and it's been a lifesaver - I've also been loving the L'Oreal True Match one too, but more on that another day!

Boi-ing is a product that I've read about so many times on tons of different beauty blogs and it's reputation seems solid! I haven't tried it yet because I'm still having a love affair with the 17 Phowarr Paint but I'm feeling optimistic! The fact that the kit allows you to try two different shades is great too depending on your undertone. I can see myself reaching for 01 more, and 02 when I'm a little more tan.

The powder, with it's adorable name, is a great little product too. It matches everything else in the kit really well, it's just annoying that you can't take it out and carry it around with you like you can the other products. That's the only complaint I have really!

All in all, I think this kit is a really great way to try out Benefit's base products without having to fork out the full price for everything. My sister got herself a different type of kit, I might pop a post up about that one to show you the difference and her thoughts on it?

Have you tried any of these products? Holy grail potentials?

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

A while ago I was my local pharmacy with my Mum picking up the La Roche Posey CC Cream (more on that later, awful stuff...) and I got talking to the woman there and she offered me a sample of the 'This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray' as I mentioned I had tired and sore eye's due to a troubled sleeping pattern. Generally I think these thing's are a bit of a gimmick, something that smells nice at the most. This product claims that is is 'The miracle solution to a good nights sleep. With This Works signature relaxing fragrance, this pillow spray will become your must-have sleep solution.'

I figured it wouldn't do any harm so I gave it a go. The spray itself is infused with esstenial oils of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Camomile to soothe the body and mind. I sprayed it on for about two weeks religiously about a half an hour before I went to sleep so the scent would take over my pillow and it really did comfort me when I was getting cosy! I have to say, I was proved wrong when I thought this product was only a fad, it really did help me relax.

It is something to look into if you have trouble winding down at night or have trouble sleeping. It can be got on the Boots website for under €20 here.

Every Day Is A Fashion Show

They say that fashion fades, but that style is eternal.
I for one, agree. Fashion trends do come and go but the
ones that make hat ever lasting impression on a woman
help aid the growth of personal style. Anything can leave
an impression on you, I bet Christian Louboutin didn't
realise the effect a simple red sole would have on woman
globally? Personally, my music taste and Vivianne Westwood
of the 60's were a huge factor when I was growing up.
But what influences style?

Everything. Movies, art, pop culture, hollywood, trends.
Life. It all counts. You can find inspiration from what I like
to call 'The Greats' i.e mothers and grandmothers alike,
and you can find it by walking down a busy street.

For me, style is something that is always evolving. If you
asked my friends I can only imagine what they would call
me.. a hippie most likely. Most days is a colourful wardrobe,
messy hair, too much eyeliner and an abundance of tattoo's.
To be honest, I prefer boho chic, but hey. I'm the type of
girl who loves anything bright, textured and I am not afraid
of mixing thing's or looking 'odd'. Fashion is a way of expressing
my creativity, as well as writing, obviously.

I graduated Uni in November 2013 with a degree in Marketing
with PR & Event's Management, and I'm now an intern in a
newspaper house, which I love. However, working in an office
means working with a dress code. A dress code, me? The girl
who wears band shirts and flowers in her hair? I don't think so.
That's just life though, and my style has undergone a revamp
the last few months to fit into this aspect of my life. Taking
inspiration from Alexa Chung and Kelly Osbourne, and mixing
it with street style, and other bloggers such as BeautyCrush
and SoSueMe. After a few months it's crazy looking back
and seeing how style changes. That's the fun in it though,
right?

My point is that although style is eternal, it is not set in stone
what that style must be. It's always changing, always evolving
and that's okay. I will argue that confidence is key. Ever
heard the term fake it till you make it? Well, it works. If you
want to wear something that may be slightly 'out there' and
your afraid too? Fake it. Pop on your lipstick, fake a smile and
own it! Soon enough, you won't be faking it anymore. You
will have the confidence and you'll love it.

I'm excited to see what I'll be drawn to next.....

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray

I realise I am super late on the bandwagon on this one, but I didn't want to talk about something that I wasn't in love with and that I hadn't taken the time to try out. However, now is the time. Like everyone else who mentions this product on the interwebs, I too love it! What's the product you ask? Well my loves, I'm talking about the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray.

Bumble & Bumble is a brand that has a place in many bloggers hearts these day's, and after trying this out for a while I really like it. I use it after washing my hair, towel dry it and add a few sprays of it into my roots and shake it up a little. It's adds a lovely bit of volume to my hair after I blow dry it, and usually it can be quite limp, which is annoying. Flat hair, bleugh. The only thing I don't like about it is the smell, it's a bit too strong for my liking but as it works so well that I'm willing to overlook!

I only have the mini bottle as I wasn't willing to splash out on the full size as it's €26 and I didn't know if I'd like it, but after using it for a few months now I can safely say I would have no problem buying the full size. I'm also eyeing up the surf shampoo too, it looks amazing!

You can get this Bumble & Bumble product on the Boots website here.

Let me know what you think of this product if you've tried it, and what else I should look out for from the range?

Rose Gold

It's short & sweet today, but I just anted to show you something that I have been loving these last few weeks. I am a big fan of chunky gold chains anyway, so when I spotted one in rose gold it had to join my little family. I picked this up in Claire's a while back, I think it around €7 but don't quote me on that!

It's a very simple piece but I think because it's rose gold it's quite versatile, I feel you can wear it with mixed metals and it's still pretty stylish. I love the statement it makes too, I love wearing this with really simple tops to make it pop, and with collars too as I think it sits really well.

What do you think?

Girl Crushin'

This is a new kind of post for me, although I don't know why I never have done it before. Instagram and Twitter are always full of people's inspiration, and girl crushes, style idol etc. So today I thought I would share one of, if not, my biggest style crush. Alexa Chung.

I absolutley love Alexa's style, everything from her hair to those cheek bone's. She always looks flawless, and she has an edgy, tomboy yet cool style that I love and that I can very much relate too. She's not afraid to mix staple items like a plain grey tee with more 'out there' items and when she wear's a red lip she really rock it! Have you read her book? It's fabulous!

Could she be a wildflower?

I love love love this jacket. It's from Penny's/Primark
I saw Milly wearing it ages ago, and it confirmed to me that I had to have it.
I'd been eyeing it up for a while before hand but was unsure as to how I would wear it, but when I went to actually buy it it had been reduced down to €9! Talk about faith...

It's colourful, floral but yet smart and it's the type of jacket you can dress up, or dress down depending on what take's your fancy. I love pieces that are versatile like this and now I want more. Isn't that always the way?

I plan to do some OOTD's soon, it's just a bit hard to get nice picture's this time of year, did I mention it snowed this week?

Anyway, maybe I should keep the floral's for Spring!

Wet'N'Wild comes to Ireland

YES - you read that title correct.
After years of seeing Wet'N'Wild product raves and reviews over YouTube and across blogs they have finally decided to come to Ireland!
They landed in Dunne's Store's a few week's ago, and myself and Aislinn literally screamed when we saw they had been stocked up.

First thing I picked up? Lipsticks obviously......
I picked up four colours, and my most loved is the dark red/purple called 'Cherry Blossom', apparently it's a great dupe for MAC's Diva (Can anyone confirm?) either way, I love it. I love dark lipstick so much so it was kind of obvious that this would be a fave!
The others I picked up we're 'Mauve Outta Here' 'Think Pink' and 'Just Peachy'.

The lipsticks themselves are really nice on consistency, they are quite creamy and long lasting for a lipstick that is only €3.99 you can't really go wrong!
I'm excited to try more from the range, I have my eye on the blushes next......
Have you tried anything from Wet'N'Wild?

Cocoa Brown*

Been born in the emerald isle mean's been born extremely pale, and with no proper Summer this mean's no chance of gaining a natural tan. There's nothing wrong with been pale, don't get me wrong, but I like having a glow, it makes me feel better.
I won some Cocoa Brown tan on Twitter a few week's back and I wanted to show you all what I got. I received a little pink package with some mousse tan, a hot pink mitt and a gorgeous iPhone cover. How cute?

If you don't already know, Cocoa Brown is a tan created by Marissa Carter (she's kind of an idol of mine), it's an Irish product and I think it's awesome! The Cocoa Brown team are fabulous too, special shoutout to Stephanie who sorted me out with these goodies!

I'm gonna update you guy's when I get to use this with what I think of the colour, development, lasting power etc so I'll be back with that soon!

#bbloggersWLW

I missed this last week, in fact I didn't post here at all last week, that was due to a horrible flu and just a really bad week in general. If you follow me on Twitter you'll have seen me ranting! However, even with a crappy week, and a diet that was non existent I managed to loose a pound! I wasn't expecting it, so it was a nice surprise and it helped me be a bit better motivated this week.

This week I have found a love for Earl Grey tea, I find it sweet and filling so I have been drinking it in work a lot. I don't like milk with it either so it's been helping to reduce my dairy intake. Excessive use of dairy products in my diet make's me feel horrible and bloated, but I love cheese so it's a constant battle!

I haven't really discovered anything new this week, or tried anything crazy, just been settling back into the swing of thing's. I've been walking Ecko (our puppy...) in the snow this morning so that was cute! Yes, I said snow, yes, it's February.. Mother nature is on one.

How are all you lady's doing?

Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water

As of recently I have become slightly obsessed with water cleansers. This was always bound to happen with the popularity of Bioderma on the blogsphere, but I can't get it in Ireland so the mission for a good 'dupe' began. Unsure if I can call any of the one's I have tried a dupe because I've never gotten to use Bioderma but I like what I have found so far.... After seeing Kate from DollyBowBow post a picture of this Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water, I headed off to Boots in search of it.

I've been using it for about a week now, and I think I like it best from all the one's I've tried. There's no scent, and it really does just feel like water on your skin which I like because I don't get on with cream or foaming cleanser's.

It's so big compared to any other I've seen too, it's a 400 ml bottle which equals to 200 uses according to Garnier. For around €6.99 I really think that this product is in the lead in the battle of the water cleansers.

Have you tried it?

The Dark Fantasy #issue2 - #IDGAFmagazine

As a self confessed book worm, music lover and fashion junkie it's hard to find something that brings all of these together and portrays it in a way that literally makes me go "oooh" out loud. Until now... Ladies and gentleman I give you #IDGAFissue2...

My style, and interests in general have we're born from my love of punk. Punk rock music, fashion and lifestyle was a big part of growing up. Since about the age of 13 I have been obsessed with the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, Iggy Pop, Sid Vicious, y'know the crew.. Fashion wise I look to the likes of Kurt Kobain, Courtney Love, Alexa Chung and Pixi Geldolf, as well as the Vivianne Westood style from the SEX day's. There is nothing more appealing than all black everything, pins, studs, leather and lace, and IDGAF has dedicated their entire second issue to this. I was lucky enough to get to see the issue before it's release date (tomorrow for you guys!!) it's been called 'The Dark Fantasy' and my God, I was impressed...

Here's a sneak peak of the cover of the magazine, and how awesome is it? It's grunge, yet urban and classy all at once! Perfection...

The writers got it spot on completely counteracting the usual pastel, floral and girly trends for Spring/Summer. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with those, I am fond of floral myself as you'll know from my last post here in Wonderland, but the darker outlook from the team at IDGAF  is so refreshing and so inspiring. Think punk meets sex meets fashion meets a little 50 shades of grey, sound like something you'd like it? There is also an injection of urban and street style just to mix thing's up, which played out so well.

Check them out on Twitter for more information on the release so you can read it!

Some amazing brands have been featured in the issue this time too, and I know that for me, I can't ait to see more of them. The models are to die for, the style is immense. It honestly has inspired me so much I can't wait to add a bit of goth style into my life. Amazing job....

I'm so excited for you guy's to see it!
It will be launched tomorrow  (Sunday!) at 7.30

IDGAF on Twitter.

Winter Florals

I love flowers. Therefore, I love floral print's. The issue I have is that I'm not very 'girly' so I opt for dark florals, aired with cosy knits instead. This is a little combination I put together and I really liked the outcome.

I like the cut of the dress, thin straps and very flowy. I think it's a piece I could wear all year around which is obviously great for my bank account.

I picked this dress up for €8 in New Look, and my purple knit cardigan was €16 from Pennys/Primark.

Trend Watch - Tartan

I like tartan, but I don't own anything with the print on it really. In fact, I'm still not sure about this dress, what do you all think? Yay or Nay?

I picked it up for three euros, so it didn't break the bank or anything. I just can't decide if I love it or hate it.
Tartan has been everywhere this winter, anyone who's anyone has either been talking about it or wearing it, so it's about time I jumped on the bandwagon I guess!

Now just to think about what shoes to wear.......

Shoe Porn

I'm gonna start this post of with saying, I am 5"2. I am teeny, tiny! So when it comes to shoe shopping, heels are what I gravitate towards because I like how they make my legs look that little bit longer, and I like the height too! The problem is, as much as I like heels I can't exactly walk in anything that's too high, especially if a few drinks are involved! Therefore, chunky heels are my shoes of choice.

I managed to get these beauties in my size for 18 euro's in Penny's of all places... That's Primark to all you UK lovelies! When I saw them at first I thought, meh... and I put them on and it was a match made in heaven.

I can't wait to style them ahhh!

#bbloggersWLW

Hey ladies,

I'm sharing another recipe this week with you curtsy of Operation Transformation. PIZZA! Who doesn't love pizza? It's a healthy alternative, and speaking from experience it is delicious.

You will need:
- 1 wrap
- Mozarella
- Tomatoe Puree
- Toppings of choice (I picked peppers, chicken, bacon & red onion)

Step 1
Heat your wrap under the grill for about one minute, just to soften it and warm it up.

Step 2
Spread the tomatoe puree across the base of the 'pizza' and tear of mozzarella pieces and scatter them across the base.

Step 3
Add your toppings, spread them out evenly. I softened up my peppers and red onion on the pan with a little water first.

Step 4
Pop your pizza into the oven at 180 for about 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the edges have turned up a little.

Enjoy! It really is yummy!
