SoSueMe enabled

I'm not sure about anywhere else in the world but in Ireland.. or at least in my little world.. when Suzanne Jackson say's something is worth buying - it's worth buying. No, scratch that, its worth walking the town checking in every shop to see if the product has been sold out yet!

So when SoSueMe wrote a review on this NYC Mascara, I was like, yep. I need me one of those! The mascara itself is a bit of a mouthful its called the Big Bold  Volume by the lash. A mouthful, indeed! Anyway, the wand itself is short and thick, and grabs the lashes really nicely. Its so black which I love,  and the curl holds quite well. It's been compared to the Maybelline Rocket mascara which is one of the most popular mascaras in the drugstore, and across so many blogs too.

The great thing about this... wait for it... it's €3.49! Yes, you read that right!

Unreal.. Have you tried it?

How to look the best at everything

A little while back my sister headed off to London & Paris for a week.. jealous much. If you've been following me on Twitter you'll know I tweeted saying you know you're raising your baby sister right when she comes home with the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and two Benefit sets! One of those was a gift for me which I was pretty stoked about because Benefit isn't that easy come by where I live!

Katie got me the 'How To Look the Best At Everything' in the shade light which is essentially a flawless complexion kit. As I said it was a gift so I didn't ask about prices or anything like that.. little rude I think. However I can tell you about all the little goodies that came inside!

The products include:

The ever so raved about Porefessional Primer.
Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory
Boi-ing concealer in shade 01 & 02
'I Love Me' powder in Ivory too.. How cute is that name?
A mini Benefit brush - much like the ones that come in the boxed blushes.

First of all, I can say that hype around the Porefessional is well deserved, it's an amazing nude primer that really does minimise my pores and helps my foundation last much longer. I'm lucky enough to have received an extra sample of this from Benefit themselves so I'll be sorted for a while!

The Hello Flawless foundation looks shockingly dark in the tube, I was almost scared to test it but it is a really good match for my skin tone. It's very blendable and it's lasting power is pretty impressive, I work most days and it's been a lifesaver - I've also been loving the L'Oreal True Match one too, but more on that another day!

Boi-ing is a product that I've read about so many times on tons of different beauty blogs and it's reputation seems solid! I haven't tried it yet because I'm still having a love affair with the 17 Phowarr Paint but I'm feeling optimistic! The fact that the kit allows you to try two different shades is great too depending on your undertone. I can see myself reaching for 01 more, and 02 when I'm a little more tan.

The powder, with it's adorable name, is a great little product too. It matches everything else in the kit really well, it's just annoying that you can't take it out and carry it around with you like you can the other products. That's the only complaint I have really!

All in all, I think this kit is a really great way to try out Benefit's base products without having to fork out the full price for everything. My sister got herself a different type of kit, I might pop a post up about that one to show you the difference and her thoughts on it?

Have you tried any of these products? Holy grail potentials?

This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray

A while ago I was my local pharmacy with my Mum picking up the La Roche Posey CC Cream (more on that later, awful stuff...) and I got talking to the woman there and she offered me a sample of the 'This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray' as I mentioned I had tired and sore eye's due to a troubled sleeping pattern. Generally I think these thing's are a bit of a gimmick, something that smells nice at the most. This product claims that is is 'The miracle solution to a good nights sleep. With This Works signature relaxing fragrance, this pillow spray will become your must-have sleep solution.'

I figured it wouldn't do any harm so I gave it a go. The spray itself is infused with esstenial oils of Lavender, Vetivert and Wild Camomile to soothe the body and mind. I sprayed it on for about two weeks religiously about a half an hour before I went to sleep so the scent would take over my pillow and it really did comfort me when I was getting cosy! I have to say, I was proved wrong when I thought this product was only a fad, it really did help me relax.

It is something to look into if you have trouble winding down at night or have trouble sleeping. It can be got on the Boots website for under €20 here.

Every Day Is A Fashion Show

They say that fashion fades, but that style is eternal.
I for one, agree. Fashion trends do come and go but the
ones that make hat ever lasting impression on a woman
help aid the growth of personal style. Anything can leave
an impression on you, I bet Christian Louboutin didn't
realise the effect a simple red sole would have on woman
globally? Personally, my music taste and Vivianne Westwood
of the 60's were a huge factor when I was growing up.
But what influences style?

Everything. Movies, art, pop culture, hollywood, trends.
Life. It all counts. You can find inspiration from what I like
to call 'The Greats' i.e mothers and grandmothers alike,
and you can find it by walking down a busy street.

For me, style is something that is always evolving. If you
asked my friends I can only imagine what they would call
me.. a hippie most likely. Most days is a colourful wardrobe,
messy hair, too much eyeliner and an abundance of tattoo's.
To be honest, I prefer boho chic, but hey. I'm the type of
girl who loves anything bright, textured and I am not afraid
of mixing thing's or looking 'odd'. Fashion is a way of expressing
my creativity, as well as writing, obviously.

I graduated Uni in November 2013 with a degree in Marketing
with PR & Event's Management, and I'm now an intern in a
newspaper house, which I love. However, working in an office
means working with a dress code. A dress code, me? The girl
who wears band shirts and flowers in her hair? I don't think so.
That's just life though, and my style has undergone a revamp
the last few months to fit into this aspect of my life. Taking
inspiration from Alexa Chung and Kelly Osbourne, and mixing
it with street style, and other bloggers such as BeautyCrush
and SoSueMe. After a few months it's crazy looking back
and seeing how style changes. That's the fun in it though,
right?

My point is that although style is eternal, it is not set in stone
what that style must be. It's always changing, always evolving
and that's okay. I will argue that confidence is key. Ever
heard the term fake it till you make it? Well, it works. If you
want to wear something that may be slightly 'out there' and
your afraid too? Fake it. Pop on your lipstick, fake a smile and
own it! Soon enough, you won't be faking it anymore. You
will have the confidence and you'll love it.

I'm excited to see what I'll be drawn to next.....

Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray

I realise I am super late on the bandwagon on this one, but I didn't want to talk about something that I wasn't in love with and that I hadn't taken the time to try out. However, now is the time. Like everyone else who mentions this product on the interwebs, I too love it! What's the product you ask? Well my loves, I'm talking about the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray.

Bumble & Bumble is a brand that has a place in many bloggers hearts these day's, and after trying this out for a while I really like it. I use it after washing my hair, towel dry it and add a few sprays of it into my roots and shake it up a little. It's adds a lovely bit of volume to my hair after I blow dry it, and usually it can be quite limp, which is annoying. Flat hair, bleugh. The only thing I don't like about it is the smell, it's a bit too strong for my liking but as it works so well that I'm willing to overlook!

I only have the mini bottle as I wasn't willing to splash out on the full size as it's €26 and I didn't know if I'd like it, but after using it for a few months now I can safely say I would have no problem buying the full size. I'm also eyeing up the surf shampoo too, it looks amazing!

You can get this Bumble & Bumble product on the Boots website here.

Let me know what you think of this product if you've tried it, and what else I should look out for from the range?

Rose Gold

It's short & sweet today, but I just anted to show you something that I have been loving these last few weeks. I am a big fan of chunky gold chains anyway, so when I spotted one in rose gold it had to join my little family. I picked this up in Claire's a while back, I think it around €7 but don't quote me on that!

It's a very simple piece but I think because it's rose gold it's quite versatile, I feel you can wear it with mixed metals and it's still pretty stylish. I love the statement it makes too, I love wearing this with really simple tops to make it pop, and with collars too as I think it sits really well.

What do you think?
