W7 Lashtastic

Just a quick post today as I should be studying.. Ssssh. I bought this W7 lashtastic mascara in Sligo. Now, I'll admit I'm not loyal to any mascara because I haven't fallen in love with any yet so I'm keen to try lot's of different ones.... This one was only €2.50 and seeing as I can't buy this brand in my hometown I figured why not? I've only used it a few times but so far so good my love's! It applies nicely and doesn't smudge. I'm a fan of the size of the wand too as it's not super long and the brush part is quite big, another bonus for me.The packaging is also pretty cool, I love the bright yellow!! I'm going to keep playing around with this for the next week or so, but in the meantime do you guy's have any suggestions of mascara's I should try out?

FOTD #1

Normally I'm not one for FOTD posts but I quite liked my make up today as I fell back in love with my MAC lipstick in 'Rebel', a gorgeous cranberry colour that I found through the gorgeous Tanya Burr  and I knew I just had to have it. I wore it out today and got lots of compliments on it which made me smile :) I'm wearing MAC studio sculpt on my face in the shade NC 15,  my essence powder in 'Warm', my mascara is the 'Lashtastic' one by W7 (post coming soon!), Urban Decay liquid liner, NARS blush in 'Orgasm' and my brows were done from my Pro Brow palette purchased from the lovely Laura in LA Beauty.

Anyway, it's miserable day where I am today and I'm ill. I think it's just all exam stress :( but I've been getting some exciting e-mails as well as job hunting now that I'm back home, so hopefully the good news will keep coming :) I've been browsing around fashion156.com a lot this week as you'll know from my last post if you don't know what it is you can check it out here

What have you all been up too? :)

Fetish Week for Fashion156

The way I see it is if Vivienne Westwood done it in the 70's it was only a matter of time before it hit the catwalks and the high street once again! What am I talking about? Fetish meets fashion, that's what. It's 'Fetish Week' over on Fashion156 and I thought it was such a controversial trend that it deserved a post!

When you hear the word fetish whats the first thing you think off? Explicit? Taboo? Well, in the world of fashion it means lace, leather and a lot of PVC! Inspired by the recent phenomenon that is 50 shades of Grey by E.L James, this trend allows you to 'revel your dark side through an erotic embellishment or material' according to Fashion156!

Jean Paul Gualtier, Simone Roche, Versace, Givenchy and of course Alexander McQueen are all picking up on the trend and thigh high leather boots, lace lined corsets and latex material are dominating the catwalks at the minute!

What do you guy's think? Will you be embracing this trend?

Dainty Doll - Nicola Roberts

After my Internet Marketing exam on Monday I had some time to kill before I had to get the train back home and what did I do? Yep, you guessed it - shopping! I went into town and headed straight for Cara Pharmacy which is one of my favorite places to shop for make-up. I picked up a few thing's from W7 (blog post coming soon..) and Dainty Doll, which is Nicola Roberts make-up range.

I picked up a liquid eyeliner and mascara duo in the shade 001 Good Gosh Miss Molly (How cute is that name!?) which is black! I always opt for black mascara and when it comes to liquid liner I always go for black as well. The packaging for this is so smooth and lovely, I really like it! The wand for the mascara isn't the best but it's good for everyday, lightweight make-up, and as it's a duo it's perfect for travelling!

The next thing I picked up is a lipstick in the shade 006 Baby Love, which is a brown nude colour with peach undertones. I never buy nude lipsticks so this is very new to me! It's my first nude lipstick but I think I'll get a lot of wear out of it... Its very soft on the lips which I like and I think that it will suit a lot of skin tones. Wearing a nude lipstick like this also allows you to wear a heavier, more exciting eye look which I tend to neglect (I really am a bright lippy kinda girl!) so this means I get to play with all my lovely eyeshadows more too. A win win situation if you ask me :)

What do you think about Danity Doll, have you tried anything yet?

I've been nominated!

I've been nominated for the liebster award by the lovely Hayley over at Tea Party Beauty! The point of this award is to get other bloggers noticed and to help new bloggers interact with each other & make friends! I LOVE this idea and I'm so flattered to be nominated so early in my days as a blogger! So thank you Hayley!

The Rules

1. Each blogger should answer the questions the tagger has set for you.

2. Choose 11 new bloggers to pass the award onto and link them in your post.

3. Create 11 new questions for the bloggers chosen.
4. Go back to their page and tell them about the award.
5. Each blogger should post 11 Random facts about themselves.
6. No tag-backs!

Who I nominate

  • What do you love the most about blogging ?
I think my favorite thing about blogging is when I get excited over a new item or product and I know I can share it with a global network of people who all have the same interests and passion as I do. I love interacting and learning from other bloggers too.
  • Mascara or Eyeliner ?
Eyeliner. Without a doubt!
  • If you could change the name of your blog would ? If so what would you chose?
I wouldn't - I quite like my blog name.
  • If you were given £50 to spend on beauty products what would you buy ?
I'm going to change this into euro's as I'm in Ireland, so with €50 euro I would hit Inglot and make up my own 5 piece eyeshadow palette and I would pick up yet another MAC lipstick because I'm addicted to them.
  • If you could wear one beauty product til the end of time what would it be?
Only one?! Ahhhh... This isn't fair. Probably something for my brows, or a bright lipstick.
  • What inspires you to write a post and keep on blogging?
Simply because I love writing about the things I choose too :)
  • If you could be a member of any band from any era which band would you chose and why?
Oh, this is tough. I was born in the wrong era when it comes to a lot of thing's and music is one of them. I would have fitted in with the Ramones, or Iggy or someone. Maybe I'd be someone like Patti Smith? Oh I don't know, someone from punk running London or NYC.

  • What did you dream of growing up to become?
When I was little I wanted to be an artist.

  • What would be your dream holiday destination ?
NEW YORKKKKKKK. Someone take me. Please?

  • Your favorite high street shop?
Umm, New Look.

  • Describe your perfect evening in.
Anything with good food and good friends :)

5 things I'm loving

This is just a quick Sunday morning post to share with you 5 thing's I've been loving this week!

1. Criminal Minds

Anyone who knows me knows I have a slight HUGE obsession with Spencer Reid. I could watch Criminal Minds all day, everyday and I'd still be smiling. I've downloaded about 3 seasons while studying the last few days and I've stuck in my headphone's and been in my own little world.

2. Lexi - FashionFilth.com

Between Lexi's YouiTube & Blog as well as her appearance on FashtagTv, I have been addicted all week. I mean, she is far more interesting than studying for exams. I love everything from her style, to her honest opinions on thing's, her tattoo's.. UGH just everything. She seems so lovely and down to earth. If you don't know who she is go and check her out you won't be let down I promise you!

3. Smooch Lipstick

I've strayed away from my normal pink lipsticks and been sporting a red lip all this week. My lipstick of choice is this Smooch one which I picked up in Cara Pharmacy in Sligo for only € 2.99.

4. Coffee

Been a self confessed coffee addict (Thanks Mom!) since about the age of 17, coffee is a part of my daily routine anyway, but I've been doubling up since study week started.

5. Black Skater Skirt

Such a staple piece! I've been looking for loads of different ones but I finally went with the bargin hunter in me and picked up one from Pennys/Primark for € 7! I'm going to get so much wear out of it!

NARS Orgasm

I came back home last weekend and my beautiful friend Aislinn got me a little present... & When I say little, I mean the blush of all blushes, the most gorgeous and iconic shade for cheeks - NARS Orgasm. If you've been reading beauty blogs for a while then you'll know just how raved about this is and with good reason. It's a healthy, natural colour that immediately lightens the complexion. It's so easy to apply and in my opinion it looks good on any skin tone. It has a very silky texture and has just the right amount of shimmer in it which I love, and it's so easy to blend and build up. Even the classic black packaging is gorgeous and you know that you have a special product in your hands! I am so grateful for this present and it's causing serious envy at home from my little Sister! I can tell I'm going to get a lot of wear out of it :) So thank you Ais, you made my month with your kindness! All I have to say now is 'Welcome to the family!'

The End of an Era

So, it's a bank holiday Monday and I decided to share with you my antics from last week. It was my last night out as a PR student in IT Sligo! What an amazing 3 years it has been. I've learned a lot, regretted some, laughed so much, not remembered quite a bit but most of all - I grew up. living on my own in a town 2 hours away from my hometown & my family has certainly thought me just as much as college itself has. To celebrate our last night as a little college family our course decided to go for a meal and then out for some messing to be blunt!! Now, we won't discuss the hangover that followed but Thursday night was one of my favorite nights out in a long time. I'm going to keep it short and sweet and show you what I wore because I done something I don't normally do and went out in a lot of colour! I loved my shoes even though they REALLY hurt my poor feet! and my lovely housemate, Lisa, gave me a lend of her stunning hot pink River Island clutch bag that completed my outfit I think (not pictured!)... I'm back home, studying for my two final exams and celebrating my baby brothers sweet 16 with pizza!

Keep Smiling! x

My beautiful purple shoes!

Hot pink & gold

& this lovely group of people are my little college family
easily some of the best people I know! xx
